How Did Brandon Nimmo Get a Black Eye

Brandon Nimmo, an outfielder for the New York Mets, got a black eye on June 5th during batting practice. His teammates were joking around and throwing baseballs at each other when one of the balls hit Nimmo in the face. He was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a fractured orbital bone.

He’s been particularly good since the start of June, hitting .333/.452/.667 with 8 homers and 26 RBI in 32 games.Nimmo has been one of the few bright spots in what has otherwise been a disappointing season for the Mets.

Brandon Nimmo was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft. He made his Major League debut with the Mets in 2015.Nimmo missed most of the 2018 season due to a hamstring injury.

He returned to action in 2019, but struggled at the plate and was eventually demoted to Triple-A Syracuse.The 2020 season was looking like it would be a breakout year for Nimmo, as he got off to a hot start before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down baseball. However, he suffered an ankle injury early on in the season and was limited to just 19 games.

As Brandon Nimmo enters 2021, he will look to stay healthy and recapture his form from two years ago when he was one of the best players on the Mets.

In today’s game, Brandon Nimmo was injured when he collided with Jeff McNeil while chasing a fly ball. Nimmo was taken out of the game and replaced by Michael Conforto.

On June 7, 2019, Brandon Nimmo of the New York Mets was hit in the face by a pitch from Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez. The ball struck Nimmo near his left eye, causing him to fall to the ground in pain. He was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

X-rays of Nimmo’s face were negative and he was diagnosed with a contusion (bruise) of the orbit (eye socket). He was released from the hospital later that day and is expected to make a full recovery.
